Baggage Information
Guests are encouraged to limit their checked luggage to two suitcases per person, with each suitcase not to weigh more that 50 pounds and not exceed 16"h x 24"w x 30"length. Please attach your Carnival Cruise Lines luggage tags PRIOR to leaving home and make sure that they are still on your bags when checking in with us. In many ports, guests have the option of carrying luggage on board at embarkation and off the ship at the end of the cruise as long as it does not exceed 24"w x 16"h. This is an advantage you may want to consider as it will allow for quicker easier access to your bags.

LARGE COOLERS RESTRICTION:
Carnival Cruise Lines does not allow guests to bring large coolers on board its vessels. Small, personal-sized coolers no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” for the purpose of housing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage. Screening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment to the boarding and security screening process and therefore large coolers are not permitted as carry-on or checked luggage.

Please note that Victory Voyage and Carnival assumes no responsibility for carry-on luggage. Alternatively, curbside porters are available at the pier to take luggage to the vessel for delivery to your stateroom by shipboard personnel. Customary tip is $1 per bag. Please be sure each piece of luggage is locked and has a tag listing your name and stateroom number. Curbside porters are not employees of Victory Voyage or Carnival; therefore, if you experience any problems, please report them to porter management on site. Any luggage left at the pier will be forwarded at your expense. Claims for luggage loss or damage must be made in writing to the debarkation personnel prior to leaving the pier area.

If you are traveling by air, please remember that each airline has its own luggage restrictions on the maximum number, size, and weight of bags allowed per person. You are responsible for contacting your airline to learn about their individual luggage restrictions and policies.

Debarkation Baggage Advice
While onboard, you will be given numbered debarkation tags to place on your luggage. Please fill out the information on the back of the tag, and remember your zone number. when your zone is called, please proceed off the vessel to claim your luggage. It is easy to pick up the wrong bag, so check to make sure your name is on it. If your luggage is left at the pier, it will be forwarded to you at your expense. Claims for lost or damaged luggage must be made in writing with our debarkation personnel before you leave the pier area.

Baggage restrictions: What NOT To Pack
Ticket Contract: Page 44. (a) Each fully paid adult guest will be allowed an unlimited amount of baggage free of charge. Baggage means only trunks, valises, satchels, bags, hangers and bundles with their contents consisting of only such wearing apparel, toilet articles and similar personal effects as are necessary and appropriate for the purpose of the journey.

X-Ray Security Machines
For security purposes, Carnival limits the size of hand-carry luggage to 24"X 16", which is the dimension of the opening of the X-ray security machine (similar to those used at the airport); there is no measurement for length as the hand-carry luggage will lay flat on the conveyer belt. Luggage larger than 24"X 16" will not be permitted through the security machine and must be checked-in with a curbside porter.

Due to security reasons, the knife will be confiscated by Shoreside Security at embarkation and turned over to the ship's Chief Security Officer. Increased Security Measures
Following the events of September 11, 2001, all cruise ship lines, cruise vessels and cruise terminals are in a heightened state of alert. The primary responsibility for the safety and security of cruise vessels in the United States territorial waters lies with the United States Coast Guard. The Coast Guard has initiated a directive for all cruise vessel operations to be at the highest security level. At this level, additional measures are taken to ensure the safety of crew and guests. These measures include:

- Enforcing a 300' separation zone from all cruise vessels while in port and en route into and out of port.
- Escorting all cruise vessels into and out of port.
- All terminal and vessel restricted areas must have increased guards and/or intrusion alarm devices.
- All baggage and cargo are screened to include x-ray screening prior to going on board.
- All guests and carry-on items are screened prior to boarding.
- All guests are confirmed against the official guest list before being allowed on board.
- All baggage is confirmed against the official guest list before being allowed on board.

Other measures include a definitive security review of the terminal prior to allowing a vessel to come into port.

Additionally, Carnival has instituted additional measures:
- Background checks for all crew members.
- The guest manifest is checked against INS and FBI computers and matched for suspects.
- Pre and post cruise bomb searches are conducted.
- All provisions are inspected for explosives.
- All crew are patted down.
- All guests go through metal detection at every port-of-call.
- All port-of-call items brought on the vessel are x-rayed.
- All ships have a guest Visual-ID System (A-pass Security System).
- Divers are sent to check the hull of the ship at every port, twice.
- Enhanced security at every out port.

There are a number of other initiatives underway which are inappropriate to be disclosed.

Carnival Cruise Lines is operating at heightened security levels throughout its fleet and is working closely with law enforcement and federal agencies to ensure the safety of our ships and ports.
